Safam in Concert

Safam is the Boston-based six man band that has dominated Jewish music since 1974 with their Jewish American sound. Often copied but never duplicated,they are originals: original music, original lyrics, and original arrangements. Their tapestry of music has become a part of the fabric of our Jewish lives and covers a variety of styles including Rock, Pop, Chasidic, Gospel, Cantorial, Reggae, Latin and Folk; all with a decidedly Jewish Flavor. Laughter, tears, singing, dancing, nostalgia and hope are among the whirlwind of emotions that one experiences at a Safam concert.

Please make your $20 check payable to Temple Beth Shalom and mail it to the temple at Temple Beth Shalom 1461 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd. Arnold, MD 21012. The deadline is Monday, November 16th.

The concert is at Baltimore Hebrew Congregation, 7401 Park Heights Ave, Baltimore, MD 21208-5490. We'll meet at Temple Beth Shalom parking lot at 7pm to carpool to the event and sit together. Concert is from 8-11pm.

Sabbath Super Supper Series

We are starting a round robin series of fun, informal Shabbat dinners! We anticipate that hosts will change regularly, so please let us know if you would like to volunteer to host. Generally, we’re thinking that hosts will provide a main course and that guests will bring something to share as well – a side dish, salad, dessert, wine, or challah. Hope you can join us!

The first will be hosted by Rachelle and Ari Tannenbaum on November 20. Please call 410 757 6746 to RSVP and coordinate a side dish or dessert to bring. Come enjoy the company of other 20-30 somethings, and let the kids enjoy an evening at home.

The second shabbat supper in this series will be hosted by Ken and Lauren Krivitzky (and daughters Sophie and Amelia) Krivitzky in Crofton on December 11, the first night of Hannukah. To RSVP, please call 513 503 9559.

The Annapolis Young Jewish Professionals group seeks to organize and run events for folks in their 20s and 30s, roughly post-college to pre-kid (but no one is checking for IDs or strollers!), and we’re neither a singles nor couples group, as both are equally welcome. Really, it’s just a bunch of folks looking to get together for social, social action, and religious-y type events.
